Overview
At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mikano International Limited mobilised swiftly to address one of the most critical public health needs confronting Nigerians, access to personal protective equipment. Recognising that the absence of face coverings was directly fuelling community transmission, Mikano launched a nationwide donation drive that placed protective masks in the hands of citizens across every state of the federation.
Scope & Reach
The initiative covered 30 states of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory. Mikano distributed 25 boxes of face masks to each state, with each box containing 50 small packs of 100 pieces per pack — bringing the total volume to 1,250 packs and over 125,000 individual face masks distributed across the country. The programme ran for approximately two years, sustaining its impact well beyond the immediate emergency phase of the pandemic.
