FAQ

Mikano supplies diesel and gas generating sets from 15 KVA to 4,000 KVA for standard commercial and industrial use. Custom-engineered IPP (Independent Power Plant) projects can go well beyond this, notable examples include a 17.2 MW installation at NNPC Abuja and a 27.2 MW gas-powered project for JOTNA Nigeria.

Yes. Mikano supplies both diesel and gas-powered generating sets. Gas options include natural gas, LPG and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) variants, the CNG option is particularly relevant where no gas pipeline is available and can deliver up to 50% savings on running costs compared to diesel.

After-sales services include scheduled preventive maintenance, emergency breakdown response, genuine OEM spare parts supply, oil and filter servicing, load bank testing and operator training, all carried out by factory-certified engineers from our branches across Nigeria.

Correct sizing begins with a load assessment — a technical evaluation of all connected equipment, peak demand, starting current requirements, and anticipated growth in power load. Oversizing inflates capital and running costs; undersizing risks overloading and equipment failure. Mikano's engineers conduct site-specific load assessments to recommend the right KVA rating before any purchase or installation.

Yes. Every generator purchase includes site preparation guidance, full mechanical and electrical installation, factory-level commissioning, operator training and a formal handover report.

All Mikano-supplied generating sets carry a warranty covering parts and labour. Warranty duration and terms vary by brand and capacity and are documented at the point of purchase. Varies up to 5 years

Yes. Mikano is the authorised spare parts stockist for YORC, MTU Onsite Energy and Perkins in Nigeria, holding controlled stock across its branch network to minimise lead times and customer downtime.

Call the national customer care line: 07001234567. Alternatively, visit www.mikanopower.com to submit an online enquiry or locate your nearest branch in Lagos (multiple locations), Kano, Ibadan, Port Harcourt or Abuja. A technical sales engineer will respond within one business day.

Verified project clients include NNPC (17.2 MW, Abuja), MTN (Asaba switch), Eko Atlantic (Lagos), JOTNA Nigeria (27.2 MW gas), and Sumal Foods (7.5 MW, Ibadan). Sectors served include oil and gas, telecoms, manufacturing, real estate, banking, healthcare and government.

YORC is Mikano's own engineered brand, built for Nigerian operating conditions — designed to handle low-grade diesel without performance degradation, with up to 10% greater fuel efficiency compared to comparable brands. Perkins (UK) is a proven, globally serviced engine widely used in commercial and SME applications. MTU Onsite Energy (Germany) is engineered for premium, high-capacity, mission-critical environments such as data centres, industrial plants, and large infrastructure projects.

Yes. Mikano generators can be configured with Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) systems, enabling seamless, automatic switchover between the utility supply and the generating set — without any manual intervention — ensuring power continuity for operations that cannot tolerate outages.
